  1. The first line of your haiku -- "buying a story" -- perfect. Thanks for sharing this haibun. Unexpected conversations like this one make me hopeful.

  2. I LOVE this little journey you've let us in on, Linda. And, "the heart of a shell, inside of a puppy's ear… a giggle..." - downright swoon-y. :0) Glad you were, of course, tuned in to the story behind the juicy pear... feeding your soul, too - thanks for sharing!

  3. Oh, my, I love this one! The haiku at the end tells all but the prose before is where the story lies. Love this imagery, "inside of a puppy's ear…a giggle...trailing along after this setting sun."

  10. Linda,
"A first blush of autumn tickles the tops of a few trees" and the journey begins. This haibun has a beautiful story line and haiku to follow that synthesizes it all in 3 lines. Well done!

  13. Yes, yes, and yes--I bought it, two hands full. Love the slight but important turn between haibun and haiku.
