Good Morning!
Our usual host, Margaret Simon, is a bit busy today so I'm taking over her blog space to bring you, This Photo Wants to be a Poem. Perhaps you remember that 'This Photo...' began with a weekly prompt with Laura Purdie Salas and then moved to Margaret's Reflections on the River Teche where she tends it weekly. She'll be back soon.
Margaret shared this photo as a prompt for a quick-write or short poem today. See where it takes you.
My draft:
Winter wears dangle earrings
diamonds of ice
flash against snow
She doesn't worry
that they'll melt
as December
welcomes a January Jeweler
who does the best work
in temperatures
below zero.

Nice!
DeleteIs it a welcome shiver? I hope a nice cool breeze is a treat. Love to think that the equator CAN shiver.
DeleteRuth, I love your equator-inspired poem. "adds a shiver" is perfect!

Love the personification.
DeleteAh, yes...the sleeping tree probably is dreaming. What a lovely thought.
DeleteLove "Twisty tendrils".
DeleteLinda: Thanks for hosting, and... what a great photo! I love your dangle earrings and January the best jeweler. My years in MN attest to that truth. Here's mine:

What a great capture in that, "forget time." Yes...time doesn't matter here does it?
DeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking over, Linda. I hope my comments are coming across. I have trouble with Blogger sometimes. I was inspired by your "January Jeweler."

They are, Rose! You're showing up just fine...despite blogger's weirdness. A jewel of a verse too!
DeleteI love how you drew attention to the ordinary transformed.
DeleteThanks, Linda, for taking over. I do love this photo and hope to come back to it.
