This week, Hamish and I collaborated on a mindful poem of affirmations after A Center by Ha Jin. It's on his padlet...which is halfway through a year of a poem-a-week centered on the theme of ox. Way to go, Hamish!
They are such stunning photos each week. I like the playing of the word with dragon. And the line, "This poem is a sunrise."
ReplyDeleteI love the dragonfly poem, Linda. That photo is amazing! And I've been loving the light so much this week. After our rainy days last weekend, I'm looking out my windows & loving the slant of the sun early morning, the brightness at noon, the easy way it seems to go. Thanks for your own 'breakfast light'!

ReplyDeleteLinda, I also mentioned Margaret's Wednesday challenge in my post today. I'm proud to be on your poetic wavelength. ;) I love the playfulness of the dragon with flutter, and Dragon F L Y! And the sweet delicious breakfast of a sunrise is evocative and lovely--makes me want to be sitting in the grass at the teche enjoying it with you.

ReplyDeleteLovely poems for June. I love the metaphor in your first, with sunrise as a poem, "it's last line lingering over breakfast/".

ReplyDeleteThe chief ingredient in composing ekphrastic poems is to be open to possibility. We must see it and be as one with the image, the form. Your poems demonstrate your capacity to achieve this important state of mind. Bravo Linda.
