Happy Halloween, poets!
I hope you're enjoying lots of little ghosts and goblins asking for candy while scaring the bad spirits away. Thank you, Jone Mac Cullough for hosting our round-up this weekend.
Jone challenged us to write to one of the prompts below for Halloween. I was able to sneak one of the phrases into the golden shovel below. Can you find it?
More Halloween fun!
Now that you've found some treats...off with ye...go visit Jone and other neighbors along Poetry Street.
These are rather brilliant!! That golden shovel, especially, wows me.
ReplyDeleteWitch hats off to that golden shovel, and all of these conjure up the perfect Halloween spirit! Thanks for the delicious words and fun. Happy Halloween!!
ReplyDeleteSo fun, Linda, each one's to keep for a laugh today! In the first, is it the line about Samhain? Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! I find myself craving thumbs with sugar and bacon for some reason . . . *wicked laugh*
ReplyDeleteSugar and bacon...thumbs.
ReplyDeleteLOVELY. All of these are great! I'm going to have go do a golden shovel on a Halloween theme.
Linda, I love all of these! So great! I especially like the line " my six toed cat has seven thumbs" - years ago we gave my parents two cats that both had polydactyly. Your poem reminded me of them.
ReplyDeleteLove the diversity of your poetic offerings, Linda. I always appreciate Golden Shovel poems and I particularly enjoyed your Nonet offering and then you finished strongly with a Limerick. Well done.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I am intrigued by the variety of poetic thoughts and formats. The strike line for the Golden Shovel was so well fitted into your poem and ending with sugar and bacon thumbs for dinner was a very witching surprise.
ReplyDeleteDelightful Linda! So happy to visit your part of poetry Steret
ReplyDelete“Poetry Street” today, and I especially enjoyed your six-toed 🐈⬛ with seven thumbs…😊 Thanks! 🎃 p.s. a ghoul may have misplaced my 👍🏼 above, watch out…
ReplyDeleteOh so fun, Linda! I love the wicked joy sprinkled through each poem!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I spotted Samhain's Forgotten Tongue! :) Love that golden shovel. I can feel the "autumn chill pricking." Such fun offerings, Linda. Thanks for sharing such a variety of Halloween poems and moods!
ReplyDeleteThe East Hampton witch made me laugh out loud. I will take a pass on the breakfast she is serving. Ha! Thanks for the poetic treats.
ReplyDeleteThanks for offering a plethora of treats for Halloween! Like so many, I especially enjoyed your golden shovel. Well done!!
ReplyDeleteOh Linda, what a fun golden shovel! I love Samhain's golden tongue inserted as well as the something wicked this way comes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun trio for Halloween! I especially admire your (rhyming!!) nonet and grisly (gristly?) limerick!
ReplyDeleteOh good heavens--you've just offered me a whole handful of treats from your bowl! As you might imagine, I'm really digging "Samhain's forgotten tongue" and the whole golden shovel.
