  1. Now I get the pairing of the two poems. Great job! I love old photos because we can always create poems based on the image. Flapper girl looks like she is having a wonderful time cruising. Your frog poem is so much fun also. Looks like you enoyed yourself creating this blog post, Linda. Happy Summer Break!

  2. Perfection! Wishing you and your dear Amygdala the vacation you deserve. (I'm a little surprised she's waving just a handkerchief at those yesterdays...maybe the middle finger is hidden in the fabric...she's a lady, after all!)

  4. Ah, your amygdala sounds like it's headed on a lovely journey--love this line: Stretch your limbs to the infinite blue as fight or flight unspools to contentment. So clever!

  5. Linda, this poem is exquisite! I love how you've personified Amygdala and wish her bon voyage. "sailor's reverence for the sky...fight or flight unspools...wave a handkerchief at all those yesterdays" -- I just want to sit and sigh and wave too.

  6. Hooray, you're done! And what a poetic celebration you've written, Linda, love waving that hanky to all that's gone before! The poem just exudes excitement and joy. Wishing you a wonderful summer!

  8. Oh what a fun poem Linda–I'm so fond of our amygdala! I learned about it when I visited a speech therapist last year to help me with a chronic cough that I developed due to acid reflux–I find the fight or flight history of our amygdala fascinating–and the therapist helped me with a handful of deep breathing techniques.Wishing you many sites of seabirds, salt sea breezes and daffy dancing moves, thanks!
