Hello Poets,
Heidi challenges us to write Soduko poems this month. Oh, my goodness...these are definitely fun and absorbing.
Trying to get the words to complement each other in horizontal and vertical paths is a hoot!

We are halfway through the year. I think that's a celebration of some sort...maybe ice cream!

the sudoku poems do seem challenging, try this, nope, or this, yes! I wonder if you started with 'no words', hence the poetic music you wrote! It's great in all the ways, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI felt like I was at an outdoor concert reading this, which is delightful. I love jamming/meadow flowers/summer/jiving. Makes me think of John Coltrane and Herbie Hancock, who I've neglected the last few years.

ReplyDeleteThese are so fun - but I can imagine I'd go a bit cross-eyed trying to write one. I see you started yours across -- I think others put their central thought down or diagonally. I wonder if it matters where you start, how much fiddling you have to do??? These are so cool.

DeleteWell, July IS National Ice Cream Month, so your celebration idea makes sense! I was clearly mostly asleep when I looked at this before, Linda--in the clearer light of day I can appreciate the energy of jamming, jiving jazz and "just a sax riffing on blue notes." Very nicely done!

Now for the central focus: Suduko Poems. I have been thinking of unrattling the mystery. I see you have done that with ease. "Light jewels words for friends" - love this! Not one but 3 poems this week! Yeah for you, Linda.

ReplyDeleteI love your Sudoku poem and especially how you began with "no words..." Your word choice was then stellar throughout! lol So glad you had fun harmonizing with "old" friends with a jazzy soundtrack. Thanks for sharing the fun!
ReplyDeleteSudoku poems are treasure troves. Jiving blue smooth. Such a cool collection of jazz feels and sounds and images. And love your 52 poems in 52 weeks! RAW CAW carries that jazzy theme.
